Washoe County School District Social and Emotional Competency Assessment

The Washoe County School District Social and Emotional Competency Assessment Long Form (WCSD-SECA Long) measures students' social and emotional competencies, aligned with CASEL's five SEL competency clusters. The instruments were collaboratively developed by WCSD, the Collaborative for Academic and Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL), and the University of Illinois at Chicago. The survey is used in Washoe County as a way of obtaining information for low-stakes decisionmaking, to promote collaboration and discussion among stakeholders, and to monitor trends.
